Chapter 111 - I'm E.N.G.A.G.E.D --> and how did it happen?

This is my 111th post thus far and today marks 11.1.2017. In celebrating this special day, allow me to pen down my feelings on what happened on 31 December 2016. Do note that this is going to be a lengthy post ya.

The memories are still alive in my mind, recapping what happened on that night. The 3 minutes or should I say, 1 minute decision made at that moment has totally changed my life now. Instead of holding a boyfriend and girlfriend status, the man whom I know for 8 years now has become someone important in my life.

That day.. it all happened starting at 6.00pm. He came to pick me up from my house and off, we headed to Sunway Pyramid. It was a normal routine like how other couples celebrated their anniversary or a New Year Eve. Traffic was good on that day and we talked quite a lot in the car, having our last precious conversations before ushering the New Year.

We checked in and had our dinner at 7.30pm at a Japanese restaurant. Nothing special on that day except that he kept checking the time and replying messages while our conversation flowed like water in the waterfalls.

Then, he had a minor stomach discomfort so, we quickly made our way back to the room. And then he stepped out to collect my anniversary present. At that time, my phone were buzzing with nonstop New Year messages and wishes so, it did not come to my mind that he was out for quite a while already. And then, someone knocked the door. I was stunned for a minute because I was not sure whether I heard it wrongly or not; it could not be him since he had the access card. The knock then came again.

This time, I pulled my courage and opened the door. The minute when I saw his sister in front of the room, my mind went blank. I was asked to put on my shoes and I was led out to collect my so-called anniversary present. Along the way, I was greeted by his friends (who is also my friend). Each of them carried a board, illustrating the journey that he and I have had from the way we met to the proposal day. I did not think much but my inner voice was screaming “what is he doing now?”..At some point, I gave myself a scare where I was kind of afraid that he would ask me on the details of each photo in which I couldn’t remember some, honestly. Haha.

My steps became quicker then, wanting to answer my curiosity. I made my way until I was at the villa. After that, steps became smaller and my heart was beating slightly faster. I had no idea what to expect or what should I do. I just followed the flow and made my steps into the villa. I was overwhelmed when I saw a path, nicely decorated with petal of roses and it led me to where he stood.

The first thing that came out from my mouth was like “Are you crazy?” Haha! I couldn’t believe that these three words spilled out from my mouth within seconds but I was really nervous. I did not know what I was crapping actually. Soon, the idea of proposal hit me strongly. Looking around and seeing all of his friends were there made me agitated and I couldn’t stop smiling.

I was given a bouquet of flowers and a present for my anniversary present. The living room in the villa was nicely decorated with balloons everywhere and trust me, I totally fallen in love with it.

I asked myself within that split second “what did I do to get all these?” Before I had the answer, he started his speech. He was nervous for sure yet, he began to illustrate the story one by one, covering the ups and downs that we had faced. And the proposal speech became so beautiful when there was a background song on “You are my everything” sang by Gummy (favorite song of mine since the airing of Descendant of the Sun).#songjoongkijustappearedoutofnowhere

I was really touched yet at the same time, I was like playing around with him, giving me a buffer time to at least calm down. I am not going to deny this but I nearly teared especially when he said that “Life is going to be meaningless without me” Haha. Am I that important?

Everything happened just like a lightning. A minute later, the sentence ”Will you marry me” was shown on the window once the curtain was pulled to the side. I seriously lost my words; I lost my words to say yes since there were so many people around us so, what I did was kind of a foolish (when I think back) – I began with my unglam speech. Bet that many including him were nervous when I did that! No one expected me to give speech and I did, just because I was not able to immediately agree to his proposal.
Eventually, of course, I gave a yes answer to this man.

A man whom I first met during our Children Camp 4 celebration at a bbq session where I argued with him on the benefits of pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration, a man who showered me with lots of chocolates and ice cream, a man who would come to rescue whenever I had problems dealing with my car issue and a man whom love me on who I am, cherish me and treasure me.

Yes, he is the man whom I look forward to start a new chapter of our lives together.
Our journey is about to begin and I look forward to holding his hands for many, many years to come.

Ultimately, the proposal was perfectly done on that day, thanks to all friends who came and helped Mr Raymond Chee for this special event.

Ps: This is a lengthy post about my feeling on that day and I will post our photos in the next blog post. Stay tuned!

Chapter 99 - Reminisce Descendant of the Sun at dal.komm coffee at Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya

A cup of coffee and a slice of cake accompanied by background music is what you need the most, marking the beginning of a short break. Celebrating the Raya Eve, bestie and I headed to dal.komm coffee at Damansara Uptown - a place where I have longed to go since the airing of Descendant of the Sun.

Like a bubbly child, I happily entered this cafe, reminiscing every single moment where Captain Yoo had with Dr Kang in this place. What makes me more excited is no other than seeing a photo shoot area where the "girlfriends" of Captain Yoo and Sergeant Seo Dae-Young are happily greeting the guests.

I smiled. This was just perfect! Alas..How I wish I could bring the dolls back...

Salute, Captain!
While I was excited with all these, bestie was at the counter, ready to order some drinks. Some of the drinks caught my attention and I opted for Bubbling Cappuccino whereas bestie ordered Chocola' deShake. We too ordered a slice of New York Cheese cake to journey the rest of the evening.
You will be notified once your drink is ready through this beep.

Chocola' deShake and Bubbling Cappuccino
There are two floors (referring to dal.komm coffee at Damansara Uptown). Suggested to sit on the first floor to have a better view. However, as many people flock to the first floor, the place will eventually become stuffy and hot. Like myself and bestie, although we prefer to have our coffee at the first floor, we decided to just stay at the ground floor as it is less noisier (since there was a huge crowd on that day) and it is colder.

At the first floor, if diners are bored, they can play around with a couple of iPads pre-loaded with a variety of songs. Simply put the headphones and enjoy the music tunes as you enjoy the view out there.

Food and beverage

Chocola' deShake (RM18.90)
Looks tempting - the ice cream is good! However, we do not really fancy much once we start to drink it. This is because the ices that are used are course and rough instead of a finer ice, causing the chocolate taste to be diluted. Is this how the shake is in Korea?
Bubbling Cappuccino RM 14.90)
Nice presentation! How am I supposed to drink it with the chocolate powder on it? I took a sip of it while handling the drink with a very careful manner. Yumm...Both coffee and chocolate taste are not that strong hence, they blend pretty well here.

New York Cheese Cake (RM13.50)
Delicious! Cheese taste is so strong and it truly melts in my mouth. This cake is comparatively good like the ones that I had in Royal Selangor. Suits people who love cheese.

Other than these, there are other offerings too like pastries, cakes, toasts and popular Bingsu. I have no idea why but lots of people actually ordered Bingsu - a cup of shaved ice dessert that is served in a number of ways, be it in terms of flavors or toppings. Suggest to try it with a group of friends rather than having it all by yourself. By the way, you can help yourself with a cup of warm water at pick-up counter at anytime you want.

Chapter 88 - Great weekend with Descendant of The Sun

Curiosity kicked in when I came across the news about how Korean drama has brought such a huge impact to someone's life especially in China. And the Korean dramas that is being highlighted is "Descendant of The Sun".

On last Friday night, I thought of having a me-time after having dinner with my friend in a Korean restaurant. After I washed up, I googled for this Korean drama and thereafter, I saw myself watching the first episode. Instantly, I got hooked up with this Korean drama - It managed to drag me into this whole Korean fictional romance yet exciting story. I immersed deeply and ensured that I watched all the episodes that have been aired till today.

But seriously..Though I am a fan of Lee Min-Ho, he didn't manage to pull me into the Korean fantasy world. Unlike this drama, it did. Somehow, I have to give credit to the Korean Entertainment industry - this Korean drama is filmed with the right angle, combining with the right music that enliven the whole story line.

Few factors that I found out about this Korean drama that may have won the heart of many are:

1. The story line
Though the drama is now up to Episode 8 only, the scriptwriter has done a brilliant work. We may have watched tons of dramas or movies where featured occupations like doctors, lawyers, businessmen and etc but how often do we see the story line between a soldier and a doctor? I am not sure about the rest but I find that this story is a bit unique in a way as compared to other Korean dramas.

2. The main actor - Song Joongki (acts as Captain Yoo Si-Jin)
I got to know him (I mean his name) when my sister told me that he was with Running Man before this. After that, he had to join the military service for 2 years which leads to my point that he is the right person to portray this character. With his experience that he had during the 2 years, it helps him to bring out the character in a better way.

3. The artistic way of filming
This time, I realized that the director is good in terms of catching the close shot rather than a broad shot as the overall. The expression of the actors and actresses' eyes are being highlighted clearly, demonstrating the emotions of theirs in that particular scenario. Words are unspoken but the conversation is issued via the eyes - what's more when it goes aligned with the songs that play perfectly with the flow.

Oh well, this is merely my perspective only - there is no right and wrong. Up till now, I have to wait patiently for every 2 episodes to be released on Friday. Now, I hope time flies...Haha!

Till then, Happy Sunday!
