This is my 111th post thus far and today marks 11.1.2017. In celebrating this special day, allow me to pen down my feelings on what happened on 31 December 2016. Do note that this is going to be a lengthy post ya.
The memories are still alive in my mind,
recapping what happened on that night. The 3 minutes or should I say, 1 minute
decision made at that moment has totally changed my life now. Instead of
holding a boyfriend and girlfriend status, the man whom I know for 8 years now
has become someone important in my life.
That day.. it all happened starting at
6.00pm. He came to pick me up from my house and off, we headed to Sunway
Pyramid. It was a normal routine like how other couples celebrated their anniversary
or a New Year Eve. Traffic was good on that day and we talked quite a lot in
the car, having our last precious conversations before ushering the New Year.
We checked in and had our
dinner at 7.30pm at a Japanese restaurant. Nothing special on
that day except that he kept checking the time and replying messages while our
conversation flowed like water in the waterfalls.
Then, he had a minor stomach discomfort
so, we quickly made our way back to the room. And then he stepped out to
collect my anniversary present. At that time, my phone were buzzing with
nonstop New Year messages and wishes so, it did not come to my mind that he was
out for quite a while already. And then, someone knocked the door. I was
stunned for a minute because I was not sure whether I heard it wrongly or not;
it could not be him since he had the access card. The knock then came again.
This time, I pulled my courage and
opened the door. The minute when I saw his sister in front of the room, my mind
went blank. I was asked to put on my shoes and I was led out to collect my
so-called anniversary present. Along the way, I was greeted by his friends
(who is also my friend). Each of them carried a board, illustrating the journey
that he and I have had from the way we met to the proposal day. I did not think
much but my inner voice was screaming “what is he doing now?”..At some point, I
gave myself a scare where I was kind of afraid that he would ask me on the
details of each photo in which I couldn’t remember some, honestly. Haha.
My steps became quicker then, wanting to
answer my curiosity. I made my way until I was at the villa. After that, steps
became smaller and my heart was beating slightly faster. I had no idea what to expect or
what should I do. I just followed the flow and made my steps into the villa. I
was overwhelmed when I saw a path, nicely decorated with petal of roses and it
led me to where he stood.
The first thing that came out from my
mouth was like “Are you crazy?” Haha! I couldn’t believe that these three words
spilled out from my mouth within seconds but I was really nervous. I did not
know what I was crapping actually. Soon, the idea of proposal hit me strongly.
Looking around and seeing all of his friends were there made me agitated and I
couldn’t stop smiling.
I was given a bouquet of flowers and a
present for my anniversary present. The living room in the villa was nicely
decorated with balloons everywhere and trust me, I totally fallen in love with
it.
I asked myself within that split second
“what did I do to get all these?” Before I had the answer, he started his
speech. He was nervous for sure yet, he began to illustrate the story one by
one, covering the ups and downs that we had faced. And the proposal speech
became so beautiful when there was a background song on “You are my everything”
sang by Gummy (favorite song of mine since the airing of Descendant of the
Sun).#songjoongkijustappearedoutofnowhere
I was really touched yet at the same
time, I was like playing around with him, giving me a buffer time to at least
calm down. I am not going to deny this but I nearly teared especially when he
said that “Life is going to be meaningless without me” Haha. Am I that
important?
Everything happened just like a
lightning. A minute later, the sentence ”Will you marry me” was shown on the
window once the curtain was pulled to the side. I seriously lost my words; I
lost my words to say yes since there were so many people around us
so, what I did was kind of a foolish (when
I think back) – I began with my unglam speech. Bet that many including him were nervous when I did that! No one expected me to give speech and I did, just
because I was not able to immediately agree to his proposal.
Eventually, of course, I gave a yes
answer to this man.
A man whom I first met during our
Children Camp 4 celebration at a bbq session where I argued with him on the
benefits of pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration, a man who showered me
with lots of chocolates and ice cream, a man who would come to rescue
whenever I had problems dealing with my car issue and a man whom love me on who
I am, cherish me and treasure me.
Yes, he is the man whom I look forward
to start a new chapter of our lives together.
Our journey is about to begin and I look
forward to holding his hands for many, many years to come.
Ultimately, the proposal was perfectly
done on that day, thanks to all friends who came and helped Mr Raymond Chee for this
special event.
Ps: This is a lengthy post about my
feeling on that day and I will post our photos in the next blog post. Stay
tuned!
