Chapter 97 - Tian Lee Seafood Restaurant, Port Klang

Never thought that a plate of mee mamak and balitong can be so well-known in Port Klang. My friends tagged me to this place before..If I remember correctly, it was like 2 years ago. Recently, my brother suggested this place again hence, we went and had our dinner there.

Surprisingly, the place was crowded even though it was raining that day. Cars were parked at any spotted vacant space, people waiting patiently for their food, loud voices were heard all over the restaurant itself while we were quite lucky to put our butt at the precious chairs, witnessing all the scenarios.

Service was slow especially during the peak hours that it took about an hour for the dishes to come to our table. The clock showed 9pm already and quickly, we filled our tummy with the served dishes.

 Signature tofu
Rare to get it elsewhere, we ordered a plate of signature tofu. Stuffed with minced meat, this deep fried Tofu becomes an awesome appetizer. Topped with a generous portion of crushed peanuts as well as juicy cucumber slices, it is so nice to munch for anyone regardless the young or the old ones.
 Thai Fried Rice
This is one of the highly recommended dish by not only the locals but also, tourists alike. Topped with cubes of cucumbers plus pieces of fried pork served on top of the fried rice, it is simply appetizing. The slices of pork is well marinated with Thai spices even though it is not really strong in taste nevertheless, when you eat it together with a scoop of rice plus a cube of cucumber, this dish is heavenly perfect.
Steamed Clam with Chinese Wine and Ginger
I have a rather high expectation when comes to steamed clam since I have been spoilt by the steamed clam served in Boston Baru Restaurant as well as Fried Porridge Restaurant, Klang. True enough, this dish is not up to my expectation. The ginger taste and smell is rather lacking, causing the smell of the clam itself to be so strong.
Steamed Fish
It was cold when it was served on to our table. And hey...How can you have a steamed fish if it is cold...Also, the fish has a very strong "fishy" smell and immediately, our emergency button was turned on as the fish was not fresh at all. :(
 Oyster Omelette (Oh-Chien)
I am a big fan of oyster omelette especially the ones that use tapioca starch to cook it instead of just egg. When this dish arrived, I was a bit disappointed because it never turn out as per what I expected it to be. The Oh-Chien on that day was just so-so only where the oysters were all small in sizes and I didn't seem to  have a bite of it.
 A plate of greenies
Nothing much to shout out for this dish as it is a simple dish which can be easily obtained at anywhere else. However, with so much of calories that we were having on that day, a plate of greenies helped us from feeling guilty towards our body.
Kam Heong Crab
Since Tian Lee Seafood Restaurant sells seafood, we too oped for a plate of crab. Highly recommended, we ordered Kam Heong crab. Personally, I don't fancy crab much but somehow, I must give credit to this dish especially on its gravy. The level of spiciness goes perfectly well with a kilo or two of these fresh crabs.
Mee Mamak
Yes, the featured highlight among all!
I know that you will not believe it but Mee Mamak is one of the signature dish sold in Tian Lee Seafood Restaurant. Just like typical spicy Indian-style fried noodles, the version that Tian Lee offers has been tweaked slightly, adding the Chinese feel towards it. It smells good when the waitress brought them out. Delicious!

The bill came up to RM 147.++.

Verdict: Suggest to opt for their Mee Mamak, signature Tofu, Kam Heong crab and Thai style Fried Rice if you want to have a good dining experience there. Other recommended dish which you can try ahead is Balitong which I did not able to try it yet.

So, happy trying!
