Chapter 65 – FOOD hunt in PETALING JAYA, PASAR??

Oh no..Apology for putting my blog aside for about a month plus. Happy Belated Chinese New Year! Hope that I was not too late to say so. Nonetheless, I had a great February month; a tiring month yet it was filled with happiness, excitement and laughter. Managed to catch up with most of my friends, be it Leos, St Johns or MGS-ians.

While I had a busy month, my food hunting did not stop. In fact, when I was told by my bestie that our dinner would be at Pasar, Petaling Jaya, I was like…”Are you kidding me?” My next response was “Okay then”, knowing that bestie could mean somewhere else..It could be a place that is near pasar, I assume..

So, we happily drove to the Pasar and parked our car. There, he was asking around where was the food court of the Pasar Besar. I was a bit blur but I did join in the food hunt, searching every corner to look for the entrance of the Pasar Besar.

Alas, we found and yes, we had our dinner at Pasar Besar Food Court! In that food court, there are a number of stalls where one can simply order, be it Chinese food, Malay food or Indian food. We walked one round and then decided to pick a few dishes where the stalls have been there since 1960s.

Woah-la!!! I can’t believe that there are real good food in the Pasar Besar. Ho-Chak!!!

The food price varies depending on what you order. I would say that the price is rather reasonable where a plate of fried noodle simply cost about RM 5 – 7.

Chapter 58 – Top 3 MUST-EAT food when you dine at Hai Jing Seafood@Klang

It’s better late than never! This rings absolutely true when I found out the existence of Hai Jing Seafood Klang – I have shared the same state with this restaurant for more than 2 decades and it never come across my mind to try the food there.

This year, my brother took all of us to try the food there. He actually went there before with his colleagues and he applauded some of their unique dishes which I never came across all these while.

Call me “jakun” or what not, these 3 are the MUST-EAT food when you are there:

1.    Fried MiHun with bitter gourd

Bear in mind that I dislike bitter gourd however, credit must be given to this dish. It is not bitter after all and the mihun itself is so heavenly filled with great “wok hei” taste. It’s not that oily which fits the palates of people from all ages especially the mature generation.

2.    Shark Fish Curry

This is a heavenly dish I must say. Look at the photo itself. The gravy is so thick in texture, the smell lingers our taste buds as the dish was brought to our table and best of all, the chef is so generous with the greenies, giving it a healthy balanced diet of protein, fibre and carbohydrates.

3.    Coconut wine chicken

For the first look, I thought it is the usual dish where my mum knows how to cook it le. That’s why people say that do not judge a book by its cover! When I took a sip of the broth, I was amazingly surprised with the coconut taste. I asked my brother and he stated “of course la since this dish is called coconut wine chicken” – not sure whether you are familiar with the coconut wine that is pretty popular in Telok Gong, Klang, this is the taste that I reap of when I tasted the chicken. I wonder whether they use the same supplier..Haha..

Fret not as you will not be drunk though you finish up the whole broth unless…unless you order twice of the same dish.

All in all, it is pretty a conducive eating environment for family – best to sit on the ground floor as sometimes, people who tend to drink alcohol will opt for tables on the first floor. Price is pretty reasonable where we had all these three dishes in less than RM 60.00. Can’t really remember the exact price since it was a while back ago.

Chapter 52 – Artistic side of Shah Alam

Calling art enthusiasts and lovers! After I had my morning exercise on one fine day, a strong instinct of mine got me to one of the most creative streets in Shah Alam – it is an artistic street, highlighting a number of masterpieces painted on the walls, floors and even, up on the air but unfortunately, it was not really well maintained. In comparison with its initial release earlier this year, some of the paints have started to tear down.

Before it gets worse, it is best to at least pay a visit to this place first. Ever since we are exposed to the Penang art legend, Ernest Zacharevic’s works, KL’s art scene has begun to gain the much needed exposure and thus, led the youth to join on the creative bandwagon.

What I get to know is that the arts produced in Laman Seni 7 were done by UITM students! I was like wowww…there are many hidden talents in Malaysia.

Stop the longgggg talk and I shall reveal some of the arts in Laman Seni 7.
