Chapter 42 – Dim Sum @ Bukit Tinggi, Klang

Klang is like a food paradise for one to indulge in their favourite food at certain hours. However, most Klang-rians are always in dilemma especially choosing a place to have breakfast during the weekend. As much as we are proud that Bat Kut Teh is a food icon to us, we can’t be eating Bat Kut Teh every week hence, the second best option is dim sum aside from the hawker food like noodles and roti canai.

Yet again, some would argue that dim sum might not be a better option at all too. Considering that 95% of the ingredients are pork filling or prawn filling, leaving 5% to vegetable dishes, this does not serve any good especially to people who are health-conscious. As for pork lovers, you may find dim sum as the best food to probably enliven your spirit.

In one of the weekends, my family and I opted for dim sum and this time, we went to a Dim Sum restaurant located at Bukit Tinggi, Klang. Early bird always gets the worms – this ring so true especially on Saturday and Sunday. The place is always packed, starting from 9am to 12pm.  Usually, I would have to wait for at least 15 minutes in order to get a round table; while waiting, my mind of course linger around and my eyes feast from left to right, to see the options of dim sum available on the respective day.

In comparison to my dim sum experience in Mexim restaurant, the waiter/waitress brings a big tray of cooked food and offers them to the diners here. Mainly, they have fried stuff as well as steamed food. Other than that, you can also get porridge, light pastries, jelly, “Loh Ma Kai”, pao and many more.

Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience there despite it was a bit hot. There was a wide array of dishes available but sadly to say, we were not able to taste them all as our tummies were not able to accommodate them any further. The price was quite reasonable; our bill came up to RM 70.90 for 6 pax.

BT Dim Sum House is located at 57, Jalan Batu Nilam 5, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang.

Happy Dim Sum-ing and have a great evening.
