Featured in The Star newspaper and also, in Ho Chak programme, my family gave a try to this famous place known as Restaurant Meng Kee Char Siew King. Courtesy by my younger brother, we went there last Saturday. The place was crowded though it had past noon. People were flowing in and out and this urged us to quickly grab a table and order our food.
To kickstart our great meal, we ordered a drink to quench our thirst. Surprisingly, most of the drinks were sold off and thus, we got ourselves a cup of chinese iced tea. Service was pretty fast as within a few minutes upon our order, here came our dishes.
Bean sprout was awesomely good! It was very juicy and they were very "fat" in shape. Even, the sauce that accompanied the bean sprout had its unique sweet taste. Every bite of the bean sprouts was burst into juicy-ness and crunchy-ness.

Next, we had two plates of char siew and pork intestine, catering for 6 pax. One word - FANTASTIC! The char siew was well enveloped with the homemade sauce. I trust there was a definite layer of honey which brought the whole sticky-ness and the sweetness. Besides that, the char siew was well chosen with its "3 layer" pork - meat, fat and meat. This totally brought us the wholesome taste of the real char siew.
Initially, we wanted to order steamed chicken. However, the business on that day was very good that the steamed chicken was sold off by the time we arrived. Hence, we ordered the roasted chicken. The roasted chicken was perfectly done with its crispy skin and the portion was humongous especially for 6 pax.
All in all, the bill came up to RM 105 which was a little pricey. Nevertheless, once in a while, one should reward themselves for a good, satisfying meal and I trust Restaurant Meng Kee Char Siew King will not disappoint you.
