CHAPTER 5 - Loh Yu Mee @ Taman Melawis, Klang

I have been craving for the homemade "Loh Mee" for quite some time. Instead, it is not easy to prepare this dish as it requires skill and a right process. I went to this kopitiam which is situated behind the Seong Onn shop in Klang. No exact address nor shop's name but this specific kopitiam, per say, serve good mee. One of their signature dishes is the Loh Mee. You can choose to "loh" any of your favorite mee and rest assured - you will still enjoy the same taste.

On a bright sunny day, I made my way and ordered a "Loh Yu Mee". "Yu Mee" is a type of mee that is made from flour which provides a very tangy texture and taste to the diners. Though it is soaked in the soup for several minutes, the "Yu Mee" still remains its original taste.

Serving abundance of ingredients such as fish cake, minced meat, sliced pork, vegetable and etc, this "Loh Yu Mee" is definitely going to satisfy your temptation and appetite. When it comes to "Loh Mee", it is highly recommended to mix with some vinegar . The more the vinegar, the better taste it is as it gives a hint of sourness yet in a hot, piping soup.

Besides serving Loh Mee, they do serve Pan Mee, Mi Hun Kueh, Laksa, Red Wine Mihun and many more. Open everyday at 8am except Tuesdays, this shop is always filled especially after school hours. At times, you will have to wait but knowing your wait is worth all the while, you will be delight to have this.

Come and enjoy the Loh Yu Mee at a nameless shop which is located at Taman Melawis, behind Seong Onn shop and situated very near to ACS school.
