Chapter 107 - Bat Kut Teh at Restaurant Kee Hiong, SS2

Satisfied!

It's been months since I last had Bat Kut Teh therefore, the craving was real. Rather than having Bat Kut Teh at Klang (like always), this time, we gave a different twist where we had it at Restaurant Kee Hiong located at SS2.

It was past 8pm and many still thronged to the outlet itself. We got our seats comfortably and immediately, the waitress came to our table with menu. The menu was pretty understandable (thank God with English translation). And all we need was to pick on the types of meat as well as the servings.

Story cut short, the smell of dry Bat Kut Teh lingered from the kitchen. Tummy was hungry hence, it yelled. Quickly got ourselves prepared with the cutleries so that we could had the dish immediately when it was served on to our table.

Ta-dah...
Bat Kut Teh (wet) - RM 14.30 (per pax)

First reach to our table was a claypot of wet Bat Kut Teh. Yummy! The broth was piping hot and instantly, we took a sip of the broth to tease our tongue. Came with an abundance of vegetables, the guilt eventually gone. I tried looking for button mushroom and enoki mushrooms but unfortunately, no avail. Aiks!

This Bat Kut Teh was relatively good but it did not has a strong herb taste. Unlike the one I had in Klang, this version of Bat Kut Teh had a relatively mild taste and flavor. For those who like mild taste, they can opt for Kee Hiong Bat Kut Teh at SS2. In fact, the portion for 1 pax was quite big actually.
Bat Kut Teh (dry) - RM 14.30 (per pax)

On the other hand, the dry Bat Kut Teh was enough to tease my appetite when it was put on our table, a couple minutes later. The dried chillies and okra slices were enough to guide my hand to scoop it. Though it came with an abundance of dried chillies, the dry Bat Kut Teh was not spicy at all. It had the exquisite Bat Kut Teh taste and smell but I found it lacking in a way that it did not have enough dried cuttlefish nor salty fish. That's the lacking part. Nevertheless, the strong, nice smell of this was good to satisfy your tummy.

And our tummies certainly agreed with it! A must-try Bat Kut Teh in SS2!

In total, the bill came up to RM 33.20 (including 2 big rice and 2 chinese tea). It was a bit pricey however, bearing the location, somewhat, it was quite reasonable.

Ambient : 7/10
Price : Reasonable (due to its location)
Food : Chinese food, non-halal
Service : 3/5
