Chapter 14 - Uncle Jang, Korean Restaurant

The culture and pace have changed! Instead of our usual Chinese songs, Malay dance and speak in our mother tongue, we are now in the revolutionary era where we have adapt the culture from other country especially KOREA!

"Oppa Gangnam Style" is rushed into our country and within a week, this song has became the favorite of all. Some even take a step further by putting in some creative elements and create their own songs such as "Oppa KL Style", "Oppa Sabah Style" and many more..

Korean food has also become a hit too! A person who doesn't like Korean food will also fall in love to it. On an auspicious day to celebrate the farewell of our beloved friend, Phua Tin Chew, we headed to Uncle Jang, Korean Restaurant in Puchong. Earlier, my first time to Uncle Jang was with my LEO gang in Ampang.

Ordered 2 portion of spicy and mixed with 4 portion of non-spicy, somehow I feel that the spiciness is extremely HIGH! Compared to the one in Ampang, I must say that the spicy-ness in Puchong branch is something that I could hardly tolerate. Pity two of our friends who can't take spicy food and caused them to drench a lot.
"Dang Gak-Bi"

The famously known dish in Uncle Jang is called "Dang Gak-Bi". A nutritious food that contains sweet potato, rice cake, yam, cabbage and chicken, this dish is best for sharing! To complement further, you can choose to add on Udon, Rice or Ra Mien - I truly suggest to go with Ra Mien as this chosen mee is good to bring the distinct flavors of the unique dish. If you were to complement it with Udon, the taste isn't that significant as the thick mee has overshadowed it.

"It looks more like Mamak Mee Goreng", said Deric Chong, one of my friends who eat this for the first time. Haha. Honestly speaking, from the look of it, he has the right point! However, when you taste it, you will definitely know the differences.

Smokey feel of "Dang Gal-Bi"

"Ra-Mien in the dish"

"Rice in the dish"

Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience with the guys and the price was pretty reasonable. Upon sharing, it is about RM 20 - RM 25 per person. So what are you waiting for? Google "Uncle Jang Korean Restaurant" and look out for the nearest branch.

Regards,
Shirley
