Chapter 140 - Pu Tien, 1 Utama Shopping Centre

Looking forward to an awesome dinner with your loved ones seems like the best thing ever that you need to do once in a while. It's been quite some time since we last met. I got to know that you are pregnant from Facebook (I truly thank this social media) and I know that we need to meet up real soon. Another friends of mine is having a very hectic schedule in work. And that seems to be legit reason to call them out for a food outing.

When the date is confirmed, that is where I long to meet them up. Kind of excited to see them and I'm not sure why. Blame my hormone perhaps.

We went to Putien Restaurant in 1 Utama Shopping Centre and the restaurant was filled. We had no choice but to be in their waiting list. We waited for like 20 minutes and boom, we got a table in. Once we sat down, that was when the story-telling began. It started off with the pregnant lady updating her story and then followed by the rest of us.

While we were busy updating each other lives, we had food to keep us entertained too. We ordered few dishes and they were simply awesome. Just that the price is slightly at a high side.

Sweet and Sour Pork - RM 21.60

First and foremost, we had sweet and sour pork. One of our favorites and it comes with lychee. The portion is quite small unfortunately for the price that we are paying though. 

Vegetables - RM 20.66

We had a plate of vegetables. Nothing special to shout about but it was just good to have a plate of greenies.

Fried Tenggiri - RM39.33 (for 3)

We had fish, ikan tenggiri to be precise. That reminds me on my mum who used to cook this a lot for our lunch during our schooling time. And this complements well even if it is just a bowl of plain porridge.

Meat Pork Bun - RM22.35 (3 pcs)

The meat bun caught my attention and I went ahead to order this. Yum, Yum!

Cabbage Rice - RM 41.32

Since we don't fancy white rice, we opted for the cabbage rice. To me, this was just so-so only. They could have done better by adding some oomph in it and of course, to provide much more cabbage. 

The total bill came up to RM 174.35 after the service charge and GST. Honestly, the food is just so-so where I believe we can get nicer and more delicious food with larger portion elsewhere. Nonetheless, what matters the most is the experience of catching up with one another and sharing our lives story together - this is irreplaceable.

Chapter 100 - Celebrate the 100th post with Tokyo Secret Cheese Tart

Yes, you see it right! The cheese tart craze has begun not long ago where a number of famously Japanese cheese tart marks their footprints in Malaysia. Even, Tokyo Secret has joined the bandwagon by opening two stores in Petaling Jaya (1U and Ikea).

I tried my luck once but lady luck was not with me at all when the queue was still so long at 9.00pm on the weekdays. I decided to try it next time then.

Bestie was on leave on one of the days and he decided to try his luck too at 1U, hoping that there was no queue. Unfortunately, he was wrong! The queue was insane and he waited patiently for nearly an hour to buy 5 pcs of these cheese tarts since it is known as one of the must-try pastries.

So, here you go - we tried the No.1 Japanese Cheese Tart. What tempted me to try this so badly is the oozing and melting Hanjuku cheese which rarely can be found in Klang Valley.

As soon as you have a bite of it, wah-lah! The cheese melts - not only from the crust but it also melts in your mouth. The crust is very, very different unlike the ones that we have it elsewhere. It somewhat gives the biscuits texture instead. As instant as the cheese melts, the cheese taste too gone in a very fast manner. This is very saddening as I thought that the cheese taste would at least linger for a slightly longer period - after all, it is not cheap to buy one of this cheese tarts.

Words of advice! - When you have to queue for an hour, please make sure you buy at least 6 pcs rather than only 1 or 2 pcs because it is not worth of your waiting time. Fret not if you can't finish the cheese tarts on the same day since Tokyo Secret suggests a few ways to enjoy their cheese tarts.
